The how and the what
So you’re interested in Happy Hosting, but you don’t really know what it is? Here’s some information for you:
What will I get?
After you signing up and us deploying your server, you’ll receive an email for your dashboard, where you find – depending on your package – a curated list of preinstalled applications. We’ll take care of the heavy lifting in the background, backups, uptime monitoring and regular updates of the platform and apps.
The hosting packages also include three one-hour onboarding sessions for you, where we talk about your use-case, show you the ropes and answer questions if they arise.
After the initial setup you’re in charge of everything. If you have more questions, you can either check our knowledgebase and tutorials for more information or you can book an additional call with our team of experts, who are happy to answer all your questions.
Server
The default VPS configuration provides you with the following resources: 12 vCPUs, 32 GB RAM, 1024 GB SSD, Fair-Use Traffic
There is no theoretical limit of what you can install, only a physical one. If you need more resources like CPU/RAM because you want to run many heavy applications, talk to our happy engineers at support@happyhosting.co for a custom setup.
The available disk-space is being used by the Docker containers, applications and emails – backups are external and do not count towards the regular storage.
Dashboard
Your digital home base. The Apps Overview in the dashboard gives you a clear snapshot of everything running on your platform – from CMS and git to mail and Nextcloud. Start, stop, or restart apps with just a few clicks, check their status at a glance, and jump straight into the admin panels. No command lines, no clutter – just a clean, visual way to manage it all.
Apps
Here’s where the fun begins. The built-in App Store offers a curated collection of (mostly) open-source tools ready to be installed in seconds. Need a project manager, a CRM, or a shared calendar? Just click, enter subdomain, confirm, and you’re done – everything is pre-configured, secure, and automatically updated. Discover new apps, experiment freely, and build your perfect stack – all without touching a terminal.
You will have access to a growing list of currently over 180 apps by default.
With a bit of magic you can also build your own nodejs/vue/typescript/ruby/go app and deploy it directly on your server in an isolated Docker container. Reach out to support@happyhosting.co if you need assistance.
User Management
One login, endless possibilities. The User Management page lets you add team members, assign roles and groups, and manage access across all apps from one place. Built-in LDAP and single sign-on (OIDC) mean users can hop between tools without juggling passwords. Perfect for growing teams – easy to manage, secure by design, and ready to scale when you are.
Backups
Peace of mind, automated, with a seven day retention period. In the Backups View, you can see exactly when your apps were last backed up, where they’re stored, and restore any snapshot with a single click. Daily backups run quietly in the background, keeping your data safe from accidents, upgrades, or “oops” moments – your data always has a safety net.
